Deirdre Moynihan - "Featured Artist"
The infinitely popular Kaleidoscope series launches its 9th season with a sparkling show of vocal and instrumental talents. "Featured Artist" of the season, soprano, Deirdre Moynihan, leads the forces in the Dublin premiere of David Lang's 2014 work "just (after song of songs)", which has become one of the American composer's most popular works since its premiere by the Louth Contemporary Music Society in 2014. The talents of another Irish vocal star, Lauren Kinsella, appearing with her quartet "Snowpoet", will from satisfy jazz tastes while accordionist Dermot Dunne revisits an electrifying solo work by Ukrainian composer Vladimir Zubitsky, his "Carpathian Suite". A double short sprinkling of contemporary chamber music and a selection of renaissance motets complete the bill. With a fully subscribed season in 2016/2017, early booking is advised!
